Unwanted Earth Bride

Unwanted Earth Bride Old Wounds Lucy Hammond begins as an isolated Chicago woman preparing to marry Mike Jones for safety rather than passion. Her childhood has been shaped by Hannah Delaney’s insistence that she is promised to Alvar. Buried Treaty The supposed delusion becomes a political obligation when Alvar appears and produces the Earth–Axus marriage agreement. Lucy’s ordinary future is revealed as a carefully maintained illusion. Narrative Function Her resistance establishes the central struggle between inherited destiny and chosen identity.

The Forced Crossing

The Forced Crossing Emergency Departure After Emily Hall is abducted by agents of Remora, Alvar removes Lucy from Earth before the expected schedule. The danger gives his coercive claim an immediate moral justification. The Bridge Lucy crosses The Bridge while clinging to Alvar, entering a dimension that confirms every impossible story from her childhood. The crossing turns disbelief into irreversible displacement. Consequence She arrives in Underland without consent, yet with Emily’s survival depending on her acceptance of the new world.

Marriage as Political Rescue

Marriage as Political Rescue A Narrow Choice Remora’s threat to execute Emily forces Lucy into an immediate wedding with Alvar. The ceremony is framed as diplomacy, but its emotional reality is sacrifice. Public Union The Wedding of Lucy Hammond and Alvar gives Earth humans legal protection in Axus and makes Lucy queen. Her private refusal is overwhelmed by the public consequences of delay. Moral Shift The marriage begins as coercion, yet Alvar’s respect for her boundaries creates the first possibility that duty may become partnership.

The Fireblood Decision

The Fireblood Decision Return to Earth Alvar sends Lucy back to Earth to protect her from Saul. The separation exposes how completely her emotional center has moved from Mike Jones to Alvar. New Agency After learning of Emily’s death and discovering her immunity to fire, Lucy uses Arlite to return. She no longer waits for rescue or accepts protection as a substitute for action. Chosen Destiny Her return makes her the decisive agent in the final confrontation and transforms the prophecy into a choice rather than a sentence.

A Shared Future in Axus

A Shared Future in Axus Reclaimed Home Lucy chooses to remain in Underland despite prejudice, violence, and cultural dislocation. The land becomes home because her belonging is now attached to love and purpose. Royal Reform She and Alvar plan to educate the population, strengthen institutions, and defend the realm without repeating Saul’s tyranny. Open Possibility The epilogue replaces fairy-tale rescue with collaborative rule, future children, and a continuing struggle to make peace durable.
